Report: Stoke City interested in Benik Afobe, James McClean

New Stoke City boss Gary Rowett is reportedly hoping to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Benik Afobe and West Bromwich Albion winger James McClean this summer.

New Stoke City boss Gary Rowett has reportedly earmarked Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Benik Afobe and West Bromwich Albion winger James McClean as prospective summer signings.

Afobe completed a £10m move to Molineux from Bournemouth last week after impressing on loan in the second half of the season, while McClean has been at The Hawthorns since 2015.

According to The Telegraph, however, Nuno Espirito Santo is prepared to offload the DR Congo international if he can make a profit, with a £12m deal thought to be on the cards.

The report goes on to claim that McClean is also on the Potters' radar, but the two clubs are apart on valuation, while Cardiff City are also thought to be interested in the Republic of Ireland international.

Rowett joined the bet365 Stadium outfit in May on a three-year deal and is tasked with getting the club out of the Championship.
