Leicester City hoping to recruit Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers?

A report claims that Leicester City want Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers to replace Claude Puel at the King Power Stadium ahead of next season.

Leicester City will consider sacking Claude Puel and replacing him with Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers, according to a report.

The Foxes have so far stood by Puel despite a disappointing end to the 2017-18 campaign, which finished with the one-time Premier League champions sitting ninth in the table.

During a run of three wins in 12 matches to see out the season, rumours emerged of player unrest behind the scenes that would cost the Frenchman his job.

Puel's job appeared to be safe after receiving the backing of the club's Far East owners, but The Sun suggests that Leicester may still twist this summer.

Rodgers has been lined up to take over at the King Power Stadium, having impressed with Celtic by winning a clean sweep of domestic honours in his two seasons north of the border.

City, who are said to be targeting a top-six spot in 2018-19, have previously targeted Rafael Benitez and Arsene Wenger.
