Relegation-threatened Leganes will be aiming to make it successive wins in La Liga when they head to Celta Vigo on Sunday afternoon.
The visitors are currently 16th in the La Liga table, three points above 18th-placed Valencia, while Celta occupy 10th, and the Sky Blues will bring a four-game unbeaten run into this weekend's contest in Vigo.
Match preview
Celta have gathered eight points from their last four league matches, beating Real Betis and Osasuna, and drawing with Atletico Madrid and Girona, during an impressive run of form.
Claudio Giraldez's side are currently 10th in the La Liga table, boasting a record of nine wins, six draws and 11 defeats from their 26 matches to collect 33 points, which has left them only five points behind sixth-placed Real Betis.
Celta have been an excellent watch in Spain's top flight this season, scoring 38 times, but they have struggled down the other end, with 40 goals conceded proving to be the joint-third worst record in the division.
A lack of defensive solidarity could ultimately cost them a position in Europe, but they kept a clean sheet in their last game in front of their own supporters on February 21, recording a 1-0 victory over Osasuna.
The Sky Blues have the fifth-best home record in La Liga this season, picking up 26 points from 13 matches, while Leganes have only managed to win one of their 13 away league games during the 2024-25 campaign.
Leganes will enter this match off the back of a 1-0 victory over Getafe, with Diego Garcia netting the winner in the 92nd minute of the contest to hand the relegation-threatened outfit an important three points.
Borja Jimenez's side have now picked up four points from their last three matches, which has allowed them to move out of the relegation zone and into 16th spot, boasting 27 points from 26 matches.
Leganes are only three points clear of the relegation zone, but another success on Saturday would make it successive La Liga wins for the first time this season and hand them a huge amount of confidence for the battle ahead.
El Lega, as mentioned, have found it difficult on their travels, only picking up 10 points from 13 matches, but their only away league win of the season was a big one, beating Barcelona 1-0 in December.
Leganes also recorded a 3-0 victory over Celta in the reverse game between the two sides earlier this season, while they have been beaten in just one of their last six La Liga fixtures with the Sky Blues.
Team News
Celta are sweating over the fitness of Williot Swedberg, who was forced off against Girona last time out due to a muscular problem.
As a result, Fer Lopez is on standby to come into the XI, but it might otherwise be an unchanged side from the game against Girona, with Pablo Duran likely to be given the nod through the middle.
Iker Losada was on the scoresheet against Girona and should again be in the starting side, while Marcos Alonso is set to continue as the left-sided centre-back in a back three on Saturday.
As for Leganes, Renato Tapia will be back in the squad after a suspension, but Munir El Haddadi will miss out due to a ban of his own.
Yvan Neyou faces a late fitness test on a muscular problem, while Enric Franquesa is a long-term absentee with a serious knee injury.
Tapia is expected to return to the back three for the visitors this weekend, although he may be needed in the middle of midfield if Neyou is unable to overcome the issue which forced him off the field late on against Getafe.
Celta Vigo possible starting lineup:
Guaita; J Rodriguez, Starfelt, Alonso; Carreira, Beltran, Moriba, Mingueza; Losada, Duran, F Lopez
Leganes possible starting lineup:
Dmitrovic; Rosier, S Gonzalez, Tapia, Nastasic, J Hernandez; Raba, Cisse, Neyou, Brasanac; De la Fuente
We say: Celta Vigo 1-1 Leganes
Celta have been impressive on home soil this season, but Leganes will have gained a lot of confidence from their narrow win over Getafe last time out; we were close to backing a narrow home success, but we just have a feeling that Leganes will be able to claim a point here.
