Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has said that Leny Yoro suffered a foot injury during Sunday's clash with Arsenal, making him a doubt for Thursday's Europa League clash against Real Sociedad.

Yoro pulled up with an issue during the first half of the clash against the Gunners, which led to his withdrawal at the break.

Man United are already dealing with a number of injury problems, including three at the back, with Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire currently on the sidelines.

Yoro is now a major doubt for Thursday's Europa League last-16 second leg against Real Sociedad, which could lead to Ayden Heaven featuring in the XI after another impressive display off the bench against his former club on Sunday.

"Leny has something in his foot. We will see if he is available for Thursday," Amorim told reporters during his post-match press conference after watching his team draw 1-1 with Arsenal in the Premier League.

Yoro a doubt for Real Sociedad clash due to foot issue

Yoro suffered a fractured metatarsal last summer, which delayed his Man United debut, and there will be some concern surrounding his injury due to the area of the issue, with the youngster expected to be assessed on Monday.

Maguire could return in time for the game against Real Sociedad, though, which could mean a back three of Matthijs de Ligt, Victor Lindelof and Maguire, with Heaven the first defensive option off the bench.

Heaven's performance off the bench against Arsenal earned praise from his manager after the match.

"I think he did really well. He is really comfortable with the ball. So relaxed, very aggressive and I think we have a very good player there," Amorim told BBC Sport after the contest at Old Trafford.

Amorim pleased with "really competitive" Man United

The Man United head coach said that he was pleased with his team's performance at Old Trafford considering their recent difficulties.

"It helps when you score a goal and don't suffer [conceding first], you can feel the energy in the stadium," Amorim added.

"In this moment, we try to win games, be compact. We were so near in the second half to score a goal. We were really competitive and I think that is important. We pushed forward and not back. We had some situations to win the game. Arsenal put a lot of men inside the box to win and I think Alejandro Garnacho did a complete game and that helped us a lot."

Man United will host Real Sociedad in the Europa League on Thursday night, with the tie delicately poised following a 1-1 draw last week. body check tags ::
