Sports Mole previews Wednesday's Serie A fixture between Torino and Hellas Verona, including team news and predicted lineups.

Torino will be looking to put an end to their Serie A relegation concerns once and for all on Wednesday when they play host to Hellas Verona.

Il Toro have won two of their last four games and are eight points above the dropzone with four games to go, while Verona are 12 points off a European spot.

Match preview

Torino have badly struggled for consistency all season long, winning back-to-back games in 2020 just once, and are where they are in the table for a reason.

Moreno Longo's charges lost 2-0 at Fiorentina last time out - Patrick Cutrone scoring for the hosts after Lyanco's early own goal - but they have won their last two home matches.

A third home win on the spin, something they last achieved in their final three home matches of last season, would effectively confirm their top-flight status for another season.

For that to be official, they need Lecce to drop points against fellow strugglers Brescia in midweek.

Realistically speaking, however, it will take an almighty collapse for Torino to be dragged into the bottom three between now and the end of the season.

Not that Longo will be taking anything for granted, of course, and this will be another tricky test for his side against a team sitting in the top half of the division.

Verona occupy ninth place and could still technically finish in the top seven, but it is looking more likely to be a battle with Sassuolo for eighth place.

The Gialloblu have gone five games without a win, most recently drawing 1-1 at home to Atalanta BC - a good result on the face of it against one of Europe's most in-form sides.

Three of those last five matches have finished all square, in fact, with no team in Serie A drawing more often than Hellas this season.

Whereas Torino have hit a bit of form at home, Ivan Juric's men have struggled on their travels for a while now, failing to collect maximum points in any of their last nine such outings.

Team News

Sasa Lukic picked up another booking last time out and will therefore serve a one-match suspension for this game.

Torino only have one other confirmed absentee, with Daniele Baselli being ruled out for the season last month with a bad knee injury.

Simone Verdi was dropped to the bench against Fiorentina and is expected to return to the starting lineup here.

In terms of the visitors, Sofyan Amrabat is suspended so Juric will have to make a change in central midfield.

Verona also have a few injury concerns, Andrea Danzi among them, but Juric has options to plug the gaps.

Valerio Verre stayed on the bench for the full 90 minutes against Atalanta and will be hopeful of earning a recall in midweek.

Torino possible starting lineup:
Sirigu; Lyanco, Nkoulou, Bremer; Silvestri, Meite, Rincon, Ansaldi; Verdi; Zaza, Belotti

Hellas Verona possible starting lineup:
Silvestri; Kumbulla, Gunter, Empereur; Faraoni, Badu, Veloso, Lazovic; Pessina, Zaccagni; Verre

We say: Torino 2-2 Hellas Verona

Torino are more in need of points than Verona on Wednesday evening and have won back-to-back games at home. However, Verona have a habit of frustrating sides and we can see that being the case again here.
