Sports Mole previews Saturday's Championship clash between Wigan Athletic and Millwall, including team news, predictions and lineups.

Wigan Athletic take on Millwall at the DW Stadium on Saturday in a crucial match for a Latics side still in the Championship relegation zone.

Millwall, on the other hand, still have a chance of making the playoffs, with Gary Rowett's team four points adrift of the top six.

Match preview

Wigan are winless in their last three Championship matches after a promising run of two consecutive wins previously.

Paul Cook's side are now three points behind Stoke City in 21st, who are also going through a poor run of form, while Huddersfield Town are a further two points ahead.

The Latics have won just five times at home all season, picking up just 20 points from 16 games, and Cook will know this needs to improve if they are to stay up.

Scoring goals has also been an issue for Wigan, who have the fewest goals of any side in the division, but a brace for centre-forward Kieffer Moore last time out should come as some encouragement.

Millwall ended a run of four consecutive matches without a win last time out with a significant 1-0 win over Preston North End at Deepdale.

The win leaves them four points behind Preston, the inhabitants of the final playoff spot, and Rowett will know his side will need more wins if they are to stay in the hunt.

With 40 goals from 33 matches, goalscoring has been the Lions key weakness this season, while they have also won just four matches away from home all season.

The points were shared in the reverse fixture at The Den, but Millwall will need a win if they are to stay in touch with the promotion-chasing pack.

Team News

Wigan are still without Antonee Robinson and Kieran Dowell, with both players still not quite ready for a return to first team action.

Experienced left-back Danny Fox is also out with a groin injury and is unlikely to return this season.

Meanwhile, Dujon Sterling is out and his return date is unknown.

Millwall have just the three injury concerns, with goalkeeper Frank Fielding still ruled out and not expected to return until May.

Shaun Williams and Ben Thompson are also out, although Thompson could be back in action as early as next month.

Wigan possible starting lineup:
Marshall; Byrne, Kipre, Balogun, Naismith; Williams, Morsy, Evans; Lowe, Moore, Massey

Millwall possible starting lineup:
Bialkowski; Hutchinson, Pierce, Cooper; Romeo, Molumby, Woods, Wallace; Wallace, Bradshaw, Bodvarsson

We say: Wigan 1-2 Millwall

With Millwall still very much in the playoff hunt, expect them to overcome a relegation-threatened Wigan side. Wigan have struggled for home wins all season and that run should continue on Saturday.
