Preview: Swansea City vs. Huddersfield Town - prediction, team news, lineups

:Headline: Preview: Swansea City vs. Huddersfield Town - prediction, team news, lineups:
Sports Mole previews Saturday's Championship fixture between Swansea City and Huddersfield Town, including team news and predicted lineups.

Swansea City play host to Huddersfield Town in the Championship on Saturday afternoon looking to extend their unbeaten record to five matches.

Meanwhile, the Terriers moved up to 19th position before the international break after claiming four points from their last two outings.

Match preview

Even without the services of former loanee Rhian Brewster, Swansea have managed to churn out results at the beginning of this season, recording 10 points from their four fixtures.

However, ahead of the closure of the domestic transfer window, the financial constraints brought on by the coronavirus pandemic means that Steve Cooper must deal with several distractions heading into this contest.

Regardless of whether Joe Rodon and Andre Ayew leave the Liberty Stadium or more players come through the arrival door, Cooper will want to ensure that the fundamentals of his tactics are maintained for this game.

Being able to use Wolverhampton Wanderers youngster Morgan Gibbs-White in a free role is, so far, paying off for Cooper, but he will still demand more from his limited frontline.

Having yet to make an outfield change to his starting lineup this season, Cooper is yet to discover whether that will prove beneficial or a hindrance as the next stage of the season plays out.

Huddersfield were another team who would not have wanted the international break to arrive after posting two much-needed results under new boss Carlos Corberan.

Although matches against Nottingham Forest and Rotherham United were far from pretty, claiming four points from the high-profile double-header has provided the Spaniard with something to work with over the coming weeks.

Like his Swansea counterpart, Corberan will be looking to conduct business in the transfer market before Friday's deadline, but he is unlikely to change the nucleus of his side for Saturday's game.

More goals are desperately needed in the final third, however, with only Fraizer Campbell finding the back of the net for the Yorkshire outfit in four matches.

Team News

With Joe Rodon having left for Tottenham Hotspur and his replacements not eligible, Kyle Naughton could deputise in the back three.

Freddie Woodman should return between the sticks for Swansea, resulting in Steven Benda dropping down to the substitutes' bench.

While Christopher Schindler is pushing for a return to the Huddersfield XI, Corberan may stick with the same starting lineup.

Adama Diakhaby is also in contention for a return on the flank, with Isaac Mbenza most at risk of losing his place in the side.

Swansea City possible starting lineup:
Woodman; Cabango, Rodon, Guehi; Roberts, Smith, Grimes, Bidwell; Gibbs-White; Ayew, Lowe

Huddersfield Town possible starting lineup:
Hamer; Pipa, Stearman, Sarr, Toffolo; Eiting, Hogg; Mbenza, Bacuna, Koroma; Campbell

We say: Swansea City 2-0 Huddersfield Town

While fixtures after the international break are sometimes difficult to call, we cannot back against the home side in this contest. Although significant alterations could be made to their squad ahead of Saturday's game, expect Swansea to prevail in relatively comfortable fashion.
