Leicester City increase Harry Maguire asking price to £75m?

Manchester United must pay a joint-record £75m fee for a defender if they are to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City in the next fortnight, according to a report.

Manchester United have reportedly been left stunned after being told by Leicester City to pay £75m if they want to sign Harry Maguire.

The Red Devils are understood to be looking to add a new centre-back to their ranks before the Premier League season kicks off in exactly two weeks' time.

Having been put off signing Tottenham Hotspur's Toby Alderweireld due to his bloated valuation, Metro claims that negotiations have also hit a snag with the Foxes.

Leicester were initially said to be willing to offload for £65m, but they have now hiked up that price, making Maguire the joint-most-expensive defender on the planet if a deal does eventually go through.

Maguire impressed in his maiden campaign at the King Power Stadium, before producing a string of standout performances for England at the World Cup finals this summer.
