Report: Maurizio Sarri left frustrated by Willian's delayed return to training

A report claims that Maurizio Sarri is frustrated by Willian's failure to return to Chelsea training, nearly a month on from Brazil's World Cup exit.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has reportedly been left frustrated with Willian after the Brazilian forward delayed his return to training.

The 29-year-old, who has been strongly linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid this summer, was given extended time off following his exertions with Brazil at the World Cup.

Willian was expected to turn up to the Blues' Cobham training base last Friday, but he had still not been seen four days on from that original return date.

An issue with the player's passport was reportedly to blame, and according to The Times it has not gone down well with Sarri, as the new manager had been keen to use Willian for Chelsea's Premier League opener against Huddersfield Town next week.

Willian is now likely to miss Chelsea's Community Shield showdown with Manchester City this weekend, but Alvaro Morata is back in contention after his wife gave birth to twins, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek has cut short his holiday to be ready in time.
