Everton hold interest in Villarreal midfielder Denis Cheryshev?

Everton will reportedly look to secure the signing of Villarreal midfielder Denis Cheryshev before the end of the transfer window.

Villarreal midfielder Denis Cheryshev has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Everton.

The Toffees have only added Richarlison to their first-team squad this summer, but more business is expected to be conducted over the next 10 days.

Lucas Digne and Yerry Mina could both arrive from Barcelona, and Marca reports that the Merseyside outfit are ready to launch another approach for a player from La Liga.

Cheryshev has just starred for Russia in the World Cup, but the 27-year-old is likely to be allowed to leave the Spanish outfit ahead of the new campaign.

The playmaker was handed just nine starts in the league last season, and it appears that Villarreal are ready to take advantage of the player emerging as one of the stars of his national team.
