Michael Keane, Phil Jagielka ruled out of Europa League

Everton manager Ronald Koeman confirms that Michael Keane and Phil Jagielka will miss Thursday's Europa League clash with Apollon Limassol.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has confirmed that both Michael Keane and Phil Jagielka have been ruled out of Thursday night's Europa League clash with Apollon Limassol.

The defensive duo were on the sidelines for the 2-1 win over Bournemouth on Saturday, with Keane having suffered a foot injury and Jagielka picking up a hamstring problem.

The Toffees welcome the Cypriot side to Goodison Park looking to bounce back from a 3-0 humiliation at Atalanta earlier this month but will be without seven first-team players for the encounter.

Longer-term casualties to the treatment table are Ross Barkley, Yannick Bolasie and Seasmus Coleman, while James McCarthy has been training away from the main group as he recovers from a knee problem.

Wayne Rooney is in contention, however, and participated in full training today after a heavy collision with Simon Francis during the win over the Cherries.
