Phil Jones, Fabian Delph fitness doubts for England

England pair Phil Jones and Fabian Delph sat out training on Monday afternoon and could return to their clubs for further treatment.

Phil Jones and Fabian Delph are fitness doubts for England ahead of Thursday evening's World Cup qualifier against Slovenia after sitting out training.

Both players were absent at St George's Park on Monday afternoon due to minor knocks and could return to their clubs - Manchester United and Manchester City respectively - for further treatment.

Jones and Delph were the only members of Gareth Southgate's 25-man squad to miss the first training session of the week, as preparations gear up for the visit of Slovenia in three days' time.

The likes of Daniel Sturridge, Jordan Henderson and Michael Keane, who were each in action on Sunday, took part in a light recovery session away from the main group.

England require victory against either Slovenia and Lithuania to make certain of a place in next year's World Cup finals.
