Romelu Lukaku to skip Stateside court date for July arrest

Romelu Lukaku took part in training with Belgium on Monday, despite being due to appear in Los Angeles Airport Courthouse following his Stateside arrest in July.

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku will not appear in court in Los Angeles on Monday as he is instead training with national side Belgium.

The 24-year-old, who has hit the ground running at Old Trafford with 11 goals already, was arrested for an excessive noise complaint in the summer after ignoring repeated warnings from local police.

Lukaku was due to appear in Los Angeles Airport Courthouse later today, but he has sent a lawyer in his absence while he prepares for Belgium's World Cup qualifiers against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Cyprus.

July's incident took place at Lukaku's rented Beverly Hills home, where he stayed during the off-season ahead of completing a £75m switch from Everton to United.

A Beverly Hills Police statement at the time revealed that the striker was released at the scene after questioning and cited to appear in court.
