Sports Mole previews Tuesday's Championship fixture between Brentford and Charlton Athletic, including team news and predicted lineups.

Brentford play host to Charlton Athletic on Tuesday evening knowing that a sixth win in succession will keep them in the hunt for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

As a result of their late defeat at home to Millwall, the Addicks are aware that they may require a victory to avoid dropping into the Championship relegation zone.

Match preview

Having recorded four victories which have been accompanied by clean sheets, Brentford have enjoyed the dream return to action, ensuring that they remain an active threat to Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion.

There would have been a time when Thomas Frank would have been satisfied with finishing in the top six, particularly throughout February when they went five matches without success.

All things considered, their turnaround has been stunning, and despite the exploits of their flair players in attack, it has taken a united effort to get the club into their current position.

Their fate could depend on whether West Brom are able to consistently respond to the pressure which is being placed on them on a weekly basis, but Frank will feel that the Baggies could slip up during a marginally tougher run-in.

On the individual front, Said Benrahma's hat-trick against Wigan Athletic on Saturday has taken him to 14 goals for the campaign, with the Algerian, Bryan Mbuemo and Ollie Watkins now being responsible for 52 of Brentford's 73 strikes since the start of August.

Charlton manager Lee Bowyer would have hoped to have gone into this game having further extended their three-match unbeaten run since the resumption.

However, despite seven points coming from those games, losing 1-0 to Millwall has left the London side facing a battle to remain above the bottom three.

Although the turmoil behind the scenes at Wigan Athletic has changed the picture with regards to relegation, Bowyer will stress to his players that they have to take care of their own business.

In comparison to their rivals, Charlton's final five games, on paper, are considerably tougher, and it puts the onus on the players to deliver when the odds are arguably not in their favour.

Charlton Athletic Championship form: LLWWDL

Team News

Given the form of their hosts, Bowyer is likely to switch to a midfield five, rather than persisting with a 4-4-2 formation.

With that in mind, Sam Field and Jonathan Williams are pushing for starting roles, with Aiden McGeady and Macauley Bonne both contenders to drop down to the substitutes' bench.

Brentford boss Frank is expected to hand a recall to Josh Dasilva, who replaced the injured Shandon Baptiste during the first half of the win over Wigan.

Having used the second half of hand rests to key men, that could prove to be the only change to the starting lineup.

Brentford possible starting lineup:
Martin; Dalsgaard, Jansson, Pinnock, Henry; Marcondes, Norgaard, Dasilva; Mbuemo, Watkins, Benrahma

Charlton Athletic possible starting lineup:
Phillips; Matthews; Lockyer, Pearce, Oshilaja; Williams, Field, Pratley, Cullen, Morgan; Hemed

We say: Brentford 3-0 Charlton Athletic

Given the manner of their recent victories, we can only back a convincing win for Brentford. While Charlton have performed solidly enough since the resumption, they are unlikely to be able to withstand the attacking threat offered by the Bees.
