Manchester United 'postpone Steven Bergwijn bid until summer'

Manchester United have reportedly decided to postpone any move for PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn until the summer.

Bergwijn has scored 10 goals and created 10 more in 26 appearances so far this season, form which has attracted interest from the likes of United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Red Devils are understood to be leading the race for his signature, with the club's head of global scouting Marcel Bout known to be a keen admirer of the player.

However, Sky Sports News reports that United will not attempt to push through a deal for the 21-year-old before today's 11pm transfer deadline and will instead wait until the summer.

PSV's reluctance to sell such a key player midway through the season is one reason behind United's decision to wait, with the Dutch club thought to be demanding a fee in excess of £30m.

Bergwijn's form for the Eredivisie leaders this season earned him a maiden call-up to the Netherlands squad in October.
