Saturday's Championship predictions including Leeds vs. Fulham

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Saturday's Championship games, including Leeds vs. Fulham.

Charlton vs. QPR (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Charlton Athletic head into their London derby with Queens Park Rangers having moved one point above of the Championship relegation zone with victory at Hull City last weekend.

Meanwhile, after their surprise defeat at home to lowly Barnsley, Mark Warburton will be expecting his QPR side to produce a positive response at The Valley.

We say: Charlton Athletic 1-0 Queens Park Rangers

Before last weekend, we would have tipped QPR to win a hard-fought battle. However, motivated to build on their crucial success at Hull, Charlton appear to be in the right mindset to prevail by a slender margin.

Preston vs. Cardiff (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Preston North End and Cardiff City square off at Deepdale on Saturday afternoon locked on the same amount of points in the Championship table.

The home side, who occupy the final playoff spot, are without a win in four games, while the the Bluebirds have put together a three-match unbeaten streak either side of the enforced break.

We say: Preston North End 1-1 Cardiff City

Despite their contrasting recent fortunes, this may be the ideal contest for Preston to raise their game. Combined with Cardiff being hard-pressed to replicate their performance against Leeds, this fixture could end in a low-scoring draw.

Swansea vs. Luton (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Two sides with plenty left to play for in the Championship go face-to-face at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday as Swansea City host Luton Town.

Swansea are just one point off the playoffs with eight games to go, while Luton are within five points of safety heading into the final straight.

We say: Swansea 2-1 Luton

Jones has lost none of his last 13 league matches in charge of Luton and has already beaten Swansea away once this season with Stoke in October. However, Town have won just one of their last five games and are bottom of the table for a reason, so we are going for a home win on Saturday.

Barnsley vs. Millwall (Saturday, 1.00pm)

Millwall head into their encounter with Barnsley at Oakwell having dropped down to 11th position in the Championship table courtesy of last weekend's defeat to Derby County.

Meanwhile, fresh off getting the better of Queens Park Rangers on their travels, the home side now only sit four points adrift of safety.

We say: Barnsley 1-1 Millwall

Both clubs have reached a stage in their season where it could be perceived that only wins will do. However, we are backing the two teams to cancel each other out at Oakwell, aware that defeat will put them significantly further away from their respective targets.

Derby vs. Reading (Saturday, 1.00pm)

Playoff-chasing Derby County play host to Reading on Saturday afternoon having extended their winning streak in the Championship to three matches.

Meanwhile, on a three-match unbeaten streak of their own, Reading will feel that they are in a position to push for maximum points after moving clear of the relegation battle.

We say: Derby County 2-1 Reading

While Derby are the favourites for this encounter, we expect Reading to push them all the way with less pressure on the shoulders of the visitors. However, the Rams know what is at stake, and that could give them an extra edge during the closing stages.

Wigan vs. Blackburn (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Wigan Athletic will be looking to further distance themselves from the Championship relegation zone when they welcome Blackburn Rovers to the DW Stadium on Saturday.

Blackburn, meanwhile, are firmly in with a shout of a top-six finish following a 3-1 victory over fellow promotion hopefuls Bristol City last time out.

We say: Wigan Athletic 1-1 Blackburn Rovers

The two clubs are in desperate need of wins for entirely different reasons, and both sides should be heading into this clash full of confidence following their respective victories last time out. That being said, we are struggling to pick a winner for this one and think that a draw is the most likely outcome.

Leeds vs. Fulham (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Promotion-chasing rivals Leeds United and Fulham face off at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon in a huge clash at the top of the Championship.

Both teams lost on their return to action last weekend, meaning that Fulham remain seven points behind the side directly above them in the final automatic promotion spot.

We say: Leeds United 1-1 Fulham

Fulham need the win more than Leeds this weekend, but Bielsa will not set out his side to claim a point. The Cottagers are unbeaten in five on their travels but have drawn the last three of those, a run that we are expecting to see continue in this truly massive clash.

Birmingham vs. Hull City (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Hull City will be looking to put an end to a disastrous six-match losing run when they travel to Birmingham City in Saturday's Championship clash.

The Tigers have failed to win any of their last 12 league matches and are now in the relegation zone, while Birmingham are seven points better off in 16th after struggling for wins themselves.

We say: Birmingham 2-0 Hull

The last nine meetings between Birmingham and Hull have produced 36 goals at an average of four a game. The Tigers were 3-0 winners in December's reverse fixture but have struggled badly pretty much ever since, and we cannot see past a home win this weekend.

Stoke vs. Middlesbrough (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Middlesbrough begin another new era on Saturday when they travel to fellow strugglers Stoke City as Neil Warnock takes charge for the first time.

Warnock has his work cut out to keep Boro in the division as they are one place above the dropzone, though just two points behind 18th-place opponents Stoke.

We say: Stoke City 0-0 Middlesbrough

Both teams remain at serious risk of relegation heading into the final straight of the elongated campaign. Stoke have only lost one of their last 15 home league meetings with Middlesbrough, that coming in 1998, and we are tipping them to extend that run this weekend with a stalemate that will help neither side.
