Harry Kane will reportedly fly to Germany on Friday to undergo his Bayern Munich medical ahead of completing a permanent move from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 30-year-old has been the subject of a drawn-out transfer saga throughout this summer, with Bayern continuously expressing their desire to land their primary target.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has been reluctant to sell the club's star striker and the North Londoners have rejected multiple big-money offers from the Bavarian giants.

However, Bayern made a significant breakthrough in negotiations on Thursday when it was reported that Tottenham had finally agreed to sell the England captain for a fee believed to be in excess of €100m (£86.4m).

There were initially suggestions that Spurs revoked their permission for Kane to fly out to Germany for his Bayern medical so they could make some last-minute changes to the agreement.

However, according to Sky Sports News, Tottenham insist that their agreement with the Bundesliga champions remains in place and had not changed.

Kane is due to fly from Stansted airport to Munich on Friday to undergo his medical, and previous reports have indicated that the striker will put pen to paper on a four-year deal worth over £400,000 per week.

Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou confirmed that Kane's departure is "imminent" when speaking at a press conference on Friday.

"I had a conversation with Harry the first day I arrived, he was up front and honest and I was the same," said Postecoglou.

"You kind of get an indication that he had kind of made up his mind that if the clubs agreed a deal, he would go.

"It's only fair that on a day like today our supporters do have a sense of mourning and loss, as despite the lack of success at the club, he's been a hero to them."

Meanwhile, Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel has labelled the club's pursuit of Kane as their "highest priority" this summer.

"We are trying to get the captain of the English national team out of England, out of the Premier League," Tuchel told reporters on Friday as quoted by Sky Sports News.

"That says it all. It is a huge deal that we are working on, a huge signature that we are working on, but we are still in the process."

Kane has entered the final year of his contract and Spurs have decided to cash in on the striker to avoid losing him for free next summer.

The Tottenham talisman is the club's all-time leading goalscorer with 280 goals in 435 appearances across a legendary 12-year career in North London.

Kane is set to be given the No.9 shirt at Bayern, but he is not expected to complete his move in time to play in Saturday's German Super Cup clash with RB Leipzig.

Tottenham have reportedly identified Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku as a potential replacement for Kane. body check tags ::
