Bayern Munich have finally agreed a fee with Tottenham Hotspur over a deal for England captain Harry Kane, according to a report.

The Bundesliga champions have been pursuing a move for the 30-year-old throughout the summer window but have been repeatedly rebuffed by Daniel Levy thus far.

Bayern had already seen two bids rejected before tabling a third offer worth a reported £86m, which was also turned down by Tottenham, but Thomas Tuchel's side refused to throw in the towel.

According to The Athletic, Bayern have now had a bid accepted by Tottenham, who have given the green light for Kane to join the German giants in a deal worth more than €100m (£86.4m).

Tottenham supposedly accepted Bayern's fourth proposal on Wednesday, but Kane has not yet agreed personal terms with Tuchel's side, and the decision now rests on his shoulders.

It has previously been suggested that the England skipper would jump at the chance to move to Bayern, where he believes he will be able to end his barren run without winning a major trophy and compete for the Champions League title.

Bayern have apparently arranged accommodation for Kane and his family as they attempt to make his transition to life in Germany as smooth as possible, and previous reports have claimed that the striker could be in line for a £480,000-a-week deal in Bavaria.

However, The Athletic adds that Kane has recently been leaning towards staying at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, as he has been left impressed with Ange Postecoglou's early impact, but it remains to be seen how he will react to Bayern's accepted bid.

The 30-year-old is due to become a free agent at the end of the 2023-24 season, and he has shown no willingness to sign an extension while the transfer window remains open, in spite of Spurs' wish to tie him down to a new deal.

As a result, Tottenham have reluctantly held talks over a sale this summer, although it has been suggested that the marksman would rather stay if no resolution was reached before Tottenham's Premier League opener away to Brentford on Sunday.

Bayern are therefore facing a race against time to agree personal terms with Kane, who would become the Bundesliga champions' most expensive signing of all time should a deal go through.

Tuchel's side jumped to the head of the queue for Kane after Manchester United withdrew their interest, as Levy had no intention of letting his star striker leave for a direct rival, having also turned down Manchester City's advances in 2021.

Paris Saint-Germain were believed to be pushing to sign the Three Lions skipper too, but Kane has no interest in a move to Ligue 1 at this stage of his career, and he is known to be pursuing Alan Shearer's all-time record of 260 Premier League goals.

The 30-year-old netted another 30 top-flight strikes in the 2022-23 top-flight campaign, but with Spurs only managing an eighth-placed finish, he will go without European football for the first time with the Lilywhites should he stay on for the 2023-24 season.

Nevertheless, Kane has played a prominent role for Spurs in pre-season and scored four goals in a 5-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk last weekend while wearing the captain's armband. body check tags ::
