Real Madrid left-back Marcelo has reportedly been dropped from the Spanish giants' squad after a row with Zinedine Zidane at the training ground.

Los Blancos enter a must-win game on Thursday against Granada as rivals and league leaders Atletico Madrid extended the gap at the top of La Liga with a 2-1 win against Real Sociedad on Wednesday.

Marcelo's name was left off the team sheet for the trip to Granada, which came as a surprise to many due to fellow full-back Ferland Mendy missing out on the rest of the season through injury.

According to The Mirror, the Brazilian will be left out of the squad this week due to a row with Zidane at training on Tuesday, with the defender reportedly unconvinced about the tactics his manager has deployed in recent games.

The report claims that Marcelo is not the only senior player at Real Madrid losing faith in the Frenchman, who could walk away from the Bernabeu this summer, a year before the end of his contract.

Marcelo has featured 18 times this season for Los Blancos in all competitions, and only twice in their run to the semi-finals of the Champions League. body check tags ::
