Ajax are reportedly lining up a loan move to bring Matthijs de Ligt back from Juventus this month.
De Ligt was one of the most coveted players during the summer transfer window following a standout campaign with Ajax, where he captained the club to a domestic double and the Champions League semi-finals.
Juventus beat a host of Europe's top clubs to the 20-year-old's signature in a deal worth £75m, but he has since fallen out of favour under manager Maurizio Sarri.
De Ligt has made only 12 Serie A starts this season, the last of which came more than a month ago, and A Bola reports that Ajax could make an ambitious attempt to bring him back to Amsterdam on loan until the end of the season.
The report claims that the Dutch outfit will approach Juventus to determine whether they are open to discussions, having tracked De Ligt's progress closely since he left the club.
The Netherlands international has lost his place in the team to Merih Demiral, who has also been linked with a January move away from the Allianz Stadium.
