Steve Bull: 'No reason for Raul Jimenez to join Manchester United, Real Madrid'

Wolverhampton Wanderers legend Steve Bull insists that Raul Jimenez has no reason to leave the club, despite reported interest from Real Madrid and Manchester United.

Wolverhampton Wanderers legend Steve Bull has questioned why Raul Jimenez would want to leave the club amid reported interest from Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Jimenez is thought to be on the radar of two of Europe's biggest clubs as a result of his form during the 2019-20 campaign so far, scoring 22 goals and registering 10 assists in 44 outings across all competitions.

The Mexican has insisted that he is happy at Molineux, though, and Wolves' record scorer Bull is confident that he can achieve his career goals of winning silverware at his current club.

"I cannot see any reason why he would want to leave. Jimenez can score goals for fun as he has the talent, the work-rate and – most importantly – the supply," Bull wrote in the Shropshire Star.

"It is not as if he has been running his socks off, doing a lot of work for the team, and getting nothing in return. He gets chances in every single game he plays, so no wonder he is happy being here.

"Real Madrid, of course, have been linked with Jimenez in the Spanish press. And even though he has come out and outlined his commitment to Wolves, such speculation is likely to continue over the next few months.

"It shows how far we have come when our players are being associated with such teams. The ultimate question, though, is whether Jimenez can fulfil his ambitions – winning silverware – at Wolves? For me at least, the answer to that is an emphatic yes."

Jimenez recently confirmed that he does not have a release clause in his contract with Wolves.
