How Juventus could line up against Genoa

Sports Mole looks at how Juventus could line up in Tuesday night's Serie A clash with Genoa.

Juventus will be looking to record their sixth straight Serie A victory when they travel to struggling Genoa on Tuesday night.

The Old Lady have beaten Bologna and Lecce in their two league matches since the 2019-20 campaign resumed, which has seen them open up a four-point lead at the top of the table.

The reigning champions suffered a 2-0 defeat when they travelled to Genoa last season, though, and they have actually lost two of their last four away matches in Italy's top flight.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Juve could line up on Tuesday night.

Out: Mattia De Sciglio (thigh), Alex Sandro (knee), Sami Khedira (tendon), Giorgio Chiellini (knee), Merih Demiral (knee)

Blaise Matuidi operated at left-back against Lecce on Friday night and that is again expected to be the case in this game due to Juve's problems on the left side of their defence.

Indeed, both Alex Sandro and Mattia De Sciglio are on the sidelines through injury, while Giorgio Chiellini and Merih Demiral are also still absent, meaning that Matthijs de Ligt and Leonardo Bonucci will start in central defence once again.

Sami Khedira is also still unavailable due to a tendon issue, but Miralem Pjanic is expected to keep his spot in the XI despite allegedly undergoing a medical with Barcelona at the weekend.

There could be a change in the middle of the park, though, with Aaron Ramsey potentially being rotated into the XI in place of Adrien Rabiot, who now looks likely to remain with the Old Lady this summer.

Maurizio Sarri has options for change further forward with Douglas Costa and fit-again Gonzalo Higuain both available for selection.

However, it seems likely that Federico Bernardeschi will again get the nod alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala as part of a front three.
