James Corden is reportedly in advanced negotiations over a new deal to host The Late Late Show.

James Corden is reportedly in advanced negotiations to keep making his US talkshow The Late Late Show.

The comedian has hosted the show, which airs in a 12.37am timeslot, for CBS since 2015 - and while the linear broadcast is far from a ratings hit, the show draws huge audiences on social media and YouTube.

Recent reports had suggested that the 43-year-old was tired of life in Los Angeles and was yearning to return to the UK, but according to Deadline, those stories are wide of the mark and he is "keen" to sign a new deal with CBS.

The publication says that a new contract has yet to be agreed but "negotiations have stepped up recently" ahead of the end of his current deal expiring next August.

Kelly Kahl, entertainment president at CBS, said: "We love James and he is and has been doing a terrific job. We don't comment on the status of negotiations."

Corden has also been carving out a career on the big screen in recent years, appearing in films including Cats, Peter Rabbit and Trolls.
