Cynthia Erivo to replace Craig Revel Horwood on Strictly

Singer and actor Cynthia Erivo is to join the judging panel on Strictly Come Dancing this weekend to fill in for Craig Revel Horwood.

Singer and actor Cynthia Erivo will join the judging panel of Strictly Come Dancing for a guest stint this weekend.

The Genius star will sit alongside Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke and Motsi Mabuse as a replacement for Craig Revel Horwood, who has entered isolation after testing positive for coronavirus.

Eviro has extensive experience on the stage, starring in the UK tour of Sister Act and the Broadway revival of The Colour Purple, while she was recently cast in the role of Elphaba in the film adaptation of Wicked.

"I'm so delighted to be joining the Strictly judging panel for Musicals Week," she said.

"Musicals have a unique place in my heart, it's such a special way of connecting all art and making it one.

"I'm excited to bring my experience to the show and I can't wait to see what the couples have in store this weekend."

Strictly continues Saturday night at 6.35pm on BBC One.
