Stoke City keeper Jack Butland ready to move abroad?

Stoke keeper Jack Butland is reportedly considering a move to the continent before September 2 to keep his chances of playing for England alive.

Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland is considering a move abroad after failing to secure a Premier League return during the English transfer window, according to a report.

The 26-year-old was linked with Bournemouth during the summer but his parent club's £30m valuation deterred the Cherries from making a move, with Eddie Howe instead promoting young keeper Aaron Ramsdale to the first team for their opening game of the season against Sheffield United.

Although Butland was picked while playing in the Championship last season, England manager Gareth Southgate has indicated that he will be sticking to players plying their trade in the top flight during this campaign.

As such, the Daily Mail reports that the former Birmingham City stopper is considering a move to the continent before September 2 in order to keep his chances of playing for the national team alive.

Butland has started Stoke's first two games in the Championship this season, but was rested for their midweek Carabao Cup victory over Wigan Athletic.
