Chris Hughton 'turns down Stoke City job'

:Headline: Chris Hughton 'turns down Stoke City job':
Former Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton turns down down the top job at Championship strugglers Stoke City, according to a report.

Former Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton has reportedly turned down the top job at Championship strugglers Stoke City.

The Potters are currently bottom of the Championship with just two points from their opening 10 league games and the club are believed to be looking into replacements for boss Nathan Jones.

The former Luton Town boss has won just four of his 35 games in charge since replacing Gary Rowett in January 2019.

According to the Daily Mirror, Hughton turned down the Stoke job because he is waiting for another Premier League job to come along following his exit from Brighton at the end of last season.

The 60-year-old has previously won promotion from English football's second tier with both the Seagulls and Newcastle United.

Hughton's rejection of the job offer is likely to ensure that Jones remains in charge of the Potters for their weekend trip to Swansea City as the club continue the search for his replacement.
