Leeds United keen to sign Tottenham Hotspur forward Fernando Llorente?

By , Reporter | 4d
Leeds United are reportedly considering a January bid for Tottenham Hotspur forward Fernando Llorente, who has previously played under Marcelo Bielsa.

Leeds United have reportedly emerged as contenders to sign Tottenham Hotspur forward Fernando Llorente during the January transfer window.

Llorente has played second fiddle to Harry Kane since his arrival at the North London outfit last year, and the Spaniard has previously indicated that he is open to a return to his homeland.

However, according to The Sun, Leeds are ready to try to tempt Llorente into a reunion with his former boss Marcelo Bielsa.

The pair have previously worked together at Athletic Bilbao, and both parties are allegedly prepared to discuss a second spell together at the start of 2019.

Llorente has less than a year remaining on his contract, and the 33-year-old is unlikely to entertain a fresh deal with the player eager to secure regular action.

Leeds have scored 29 goals from their 17 matches at the second tier, but Llorente would be able to offer more of a physical presence in the final third.
