Barcelona identify Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen as backup?

Barcelona reportedly identify Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen as their 'Plan B' if they fail to sign Atletico Madrid attacker Antoine Griezmann.

Barcelona have reportedly decided to maintain an interest in signing Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen.

The Danish playmaker has previously emerged as a possible target for Barca but it has recently been suggested that Atletico Madrid attacker Antoine Griezmann is the club's top priority for the summer.

However, according to Sport, Barca are uncertain whether Griezmann will choose to make the switch to Camp Nou, leaving the Catalan giants needing to identify a backup option.

The report suggests that an effort will be made to sign Eriksen, who only has two years remaining on his contract at the North London outfit.

Spurs allegedly have no plans to sell any of their star men during this transfer window but if Eriksen shows a willingness to make the switch, chairman Daniel Levy may have to change his stance.

Eriksen has spent the last five years at Spurs, scoring 56 goals in 226 appearances in all competitions.
