Mateo Kovacic 'still wants Real Madrid exit'

Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic is still intent on leaving Real Madrid in this summer's transfer window, according to a report.

Mateo Kovacic is reportedly still intent on leaving Real Madrid in this summer's transfer window.

Kovacic joined Madrid from Inter Milan in 2015 and has made over 100 appearances for the Spanish giants over the last three seasons, yet he started just 10 La Liga matches last term.

The 24-year-old was a part of the Croatia team that reached the final of the 2018 World Cup, and he admitted during the tournament that he would be looking to leave the Bernabeu this summer.

Julen Lopetegui has replaced Zinedine Zidane as head coach of Madrid this summer, but according to Diario AS, Kovacic is still insistent on leaving the European champions ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.

Kovacic, who has won one La Liga title and three Champions League crowns during his time in Spain, has previously been linked with both Manchester United and Manchester City.
