Reading 'monitoring Nottingham Forest winger Barrie McKay'

Reading are reportedly interested in signing Nottingham Forest winger Barrie McKay following a bust-up with coach Aitor Karanka.

Reading are reportedly monitoring Nottingham Forest player Barrie McKay after the winger fell out with manager Aitor Karanka.

The 23-year-old was linked with a move to Olympiacos earlier this month, but the Greek club are now said to be exploring other options.

According to the Scottish Sun, Reading are eyeing up the Scotland international but face competition from German, Russian and other English teams.

McKay was signed by former Royals boss Mark Warburton last summer and has made 28 appearances for the Championship side.

The former Rangers man made his international debut as an 84th-minute substitute during a 3–0 defeat to France two years ago.
