Result: Gaetan Laborde brace inspires in-form Montpellier to victory over Marseille

Elsewhere, St Etienne recovered to beat Angers.

Montpellier moved into second spot in the Ligue 1 table after in-form striker Gaetan Laborde's brace inspired them to a 3-0 win over Marseille.

After a goalless opening period, Laborde headed home Ruben Aguilar's cross and then took advantage of some slack defending to curl home his fifth goal in four league games.

Rudi Garcia's Marseille, beaten by Paris St Germain last weekend, had no response and fell further behind when midfielder Paul Lasne slotted in to earn the hosts a third successive league win.

Elsewhere, substitute Romain Hamouma claimed an 89th-minute winner as fifth-placed St Etienne twice came from behind to beat Angers 4-3.

Croatian defender Mateo Pavlovic put Angers ahead but goals from Lois Diony and former Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy turned the game in the hosts' favour.

The 15th-placed visitors regained the lead thanks to Flavien Tait and Stephane Bahoken, but an own goal from Vincent Manceau and Hamouma's late finish left them empty handed.

In Sunday's other game, a brace from Argentinian forward Emiliano Sala helped in-form Nantes thrash bottom club Guingamp 5-0.

Sala opened the scoring from the penalty spot late in the first half before completing his side's third successive win with his 10th league goal of the season following strikes from Valentin Rongier, Abdoulaye Toure and Andrei Girotto.
