Manchester United 'inform Leicester City of Harry Maguire interest'

Manchester United tell Leicester City that they want to sign the club's central defender Harry Maguire this summer, according to a report.

Manchester United have reportedly made it clear to Leicester City that they want to sign the club's central defender Harry Maguire in this summer's transfer window.

Maguire starred for England at the 2018 World Cup - helping the Three Lions reach the semi-finals of the competition in Russia.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move away from Leicester since the end of the World Cup, and according to The Mirror, United have now told the Foxes that they want to sign him.

Meanwhile, the same report claims that Maguire is confident of making the move to Old Trafford before the summer transfer window slams shut on August 9.

United have been frustrated in their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur's Toby Alderweireld this summer, but another centre-back is expected to arrive at the club before the start of the new Premier League campaign.

Maguire appeared in all 38 of Leicester's Premier League matches during the 2017-18 season.
