Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic rejects Manchester United move?

Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic reportedly decides against entertaining a summer transfer to Manchester United.

Manchester United have reportedly failed in an attempt to sign Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic.

The Serbia international revealed earlier this summer that he wanted to leave the Bernabeu in order to search for first-team football but as it stands, no club has been prepared to meet the player's asking price.

Manchester City and Chelsea have both been linked with an approach, but according to Marca, United have also displayed an interest in signing the 24-year-old.

However, the report suggests that Kovacic has decided against entertaining a switch to Old Trafford due to a belief that he will not fit the playing style of manager Jose Mourinho.

Kovacic has made a total of 109 appearances in his three years at the Bernabeu, but half of the player's outings have come from the substitutes' bench.
