Manchester United reject Lyon approach for Victor Lindelof?

A report claims that Ligue 1 side Lyon have suffered a setback in their attempt to sign Victor Lindelof from Manchester United.

Manchester United have reportedly informed Lyon that Victor Lindelof is not for sale after the French side made an approach for the centre-back.

Lindelof's Old Trafford future has been thrown into doubt after starting just 13 Premier League games following his £31m arrival from Benfica last season.

United have been strongly linked with a number of defenders during the off-season - namely Toby Alderweireld, Harry Maguire and Yerry Mina - but Jose Mourinho is apparently keen to keep hold of those already available to him.

French publication L'Equipe claims that the Red Devils rejected Lyon's approach, although it is suggested that their stance may change if the Ligue 1 side agree to at least match what United paid to sign him 13 months ago.

Lindelof featured four times for Sweden at this summer's World Cup and is not expected to be in contention for his club side's Premier League opener against Leicester City in 11 days' time.
