A report claims that Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard, who has starred on loan at West Ham United, has emerged as a possible target for Leicester City.

Leicester City have reportedly joined West Ham United in the race to sign Jesse Lingard from Manchester United on a permanent basis.

The 28-year-old has revived his career at West Ham since joining on loan from Man United in January, scoring three goals in four Premier League outings.

West Ham are interested in retaining the services of Lingard for the long term, though they do not have the right to purchase the Englishman outright.

It remains to be seen whether the Red Devils are ready to cash in on a player way down their attacking pecking order, but Eurosport claims that Leicester may join West Ham in stepping forward with a bid.

Brendan Rodgers's side will continue to monitor the situation before deciding whether to table an offer for Lingard, who is under contract at Old Trafford until the end of 2021-22.
