Everton up efforts to sign Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo?

By , Reporter | 6d
Everton reportedly move to open talks with Manchester United regarding the potential signing of defender Marcos Rojo.

Everton have reportedly opened talks with Manchester United regarding the possible signing of Marcos Rojo.

The Toffees hold a long-standing interest in the Argentina international, who is yet to make a single first-team outing for United during the current campaign.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have recently been linked with a January bid for the left-sided defender, but according to Metro, that has only resulted in Everton stepping up their efforts to sign the 28-year-old.

The report suggests that United would be happy to sell Rojo at the midway point in the season in order to raise funds for manager Jose Mourinho, who is known to be keen to bring in another centre-back.

Everton boss Marco Silva is currently well stocked for players who can play in the middle of his backline, but Kurt Zouma is due back at Chelsea in the summer and Phil Jagielka could be allowed to leave for another club.
