How Tottenham Hotspur could line up against Chelsea

By , Football League Correspondent | 5d
Sports Mole predicts how Tottenham Hotspur could line up for Saturday's Premier League clash with top-four rivals Chelsea.

Tottenham Hotspur can leapfrog London rivals Chelsea into third place in the Premier League table should they pick up victory in this weekend's clash at Wembley Stadium.

Spurs have won six of their last seven games in the top flight and are now within a point over their opponents, who have drawn more matches than they have won since the tail end of September.

The international break may therefore have come at the wrong time for Mauricio Pochettino on the face of it, though the two-week hiatus has given Tottenham's wounded players a chance to recuperate.

Ahead of Saturday's showdown with Chelsea, Sports Mole looks at how the Lilywhites could line up.

Out: Vincent Janssen (foot), Mousa Dembele (ankle), Davinson Sanchez (hamstring), Danny Rose (groin), Jan Vertonghen (hamstring)
Doubtful: Kieran Trippier (groin)

Pochettino has had to contend with a number of injury problems over the past couple of weeks and, even accounting for the two-week break, a number of first-team stars remain on the sidelines.

Christian Eriksen appears to be over his stomach injury for now, however, while Dele Alli - who has five goals in four games against Chelsea - is also back to full fitness.

Despite having Harry Winks in contention, Pochettino could stick with Moussa Sissoko in the engine room following the Frenchman's recent impressive showings, either alongside Eric Dier or Victor Wanyama.

Trippier pulled out of international duty with England due to a groin strain, meanwhile, and Sanchez, Rose and Vertonghen are also confirmed out, so Spurs will not be at full strength for the start of what is a huge week in their campaign.
