Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Manchester United on Friday, December 25.

A frustrating summer transfer window has now closed with Manchester United having missed out on a number of their top targets, including Jadon Sancho.

The Red Devils were busy on deadline day, though, bringing in Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles and Facundo Pellistri, in addition to agreeing a deal to sign Amad Traore in January. Attention will now switch to other business they may do when the window reopens in the winter.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Old Trafford.

Friday morning's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup:

Manchester United suffer blow in Erling Braut Haaland pursuit?

Manchester United's hopes of signing Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland could reportedly be scuppered by their frosty relationship with his agent Mino Raiola.

The Red Devils were heavily linked with the 20-year-old last January but ultimately missed out on his signature to Dortmund, where the forward has continued his prolific form.

Man United retain an interest in signing Haaland, although they are expected to wait until 2022, when a £68m release clause kicks in to his contract, to make their next approach.

However, The Athletic reports that, while the Norway international remains a priority target for the 20-time English champions, their chances of signing him could be hampered by Raiola.

Raiola's relationship with Man United is poor, due largely to the ongoing speculation regarding Paul Pogba's future which Raiola has continued to fuel publicly.

Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has previously taken charge of Haaland at Molde, but it is the relationship between the club's board and Raiola which could prove to be the problem.

The Red Devils have recently been linked with Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin as a possible alternative for Haaland, who has scored 33 goals in 32 games since joining Dortmund less than a year ago.

Chelsea and Real Madrid are also understood to be interested in the former Red Bull Salzburg forward.

Manchester United interested in Everton's Dominic-Calvert Lewin?

Manchester United have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The England international's goalscoring prowess this season is well-documented, with Calvert-Lewin finding the back of the net 11 times in 14 Premier League games for the impressive Toffees.

Only Mohamed Salah has struck more times in the top flight than Calvert-Lewin this season, and the Everton striker is already being linked with a move to a top European club.

According to The Athletic, Man United are ready to swoop for Calvert-Lewin after hitting a roadblock in their pursuit of Erling Braut Haaland, with agent Mino Raiola complicating matters over a deal for the Borussia Dortmund man.

As a result, United have supposedly turned their attentions to Calvert-Lewin, but the report claims that it would take a bid of £75m for Everton to even consider a sale, and Toffees manager Carlo Ancelotti is strongly against letting the 23-year-old leave.

Calvert-Lewin is under contract at Goodison Park until 2025, having penned a new deal in March.
