Manchester United 'planning new Mason Greenwood contract'

Manchester United attacker Mason Greenwood is reportedly in line for a new deal at Old Trafford after regaining the trust of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to offer Mason Greenwood a new contract at Old Trafford in 2021.

The England international is regarded as one of the Premier League's top prospects, but Greenwood has endured a controversy-filled 2020-21 campaign so far.

Greenwood struck 17 times in 49 appearances for the Red Devils last season, but the 19-year-old made headlines for all the wrong reasons alongside Phil Foden in September as the pair were sent home from the England camp for breaching coronavirus protocols.

However, Greenwood has been publicly praised by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and is now back in the Red Devils fold, and speaking on the Here We Go podcast, journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that United are ready to offer the striker fresh terms.

Solskjaer is thought to be a big fan of Greenwood and is desperate to retain his services, although his current deal is not set to expire until the end of the 2022-23 campaign, and the Red Devils also have the option of a further year.

Greenwood was named in Solskjaer's starting lineup in United's EFL Cup quarter-final showdown with Everton on Wednesday evening, and the 19-year-old played 67 minutes of that 2-0 win at Goodison Park.
