Manchester United are reportedly considering a summer move for West Ham United centre-back Nayef Aguerd.
The 28-year-old made the move to Real Sociedad on loan last August, and he has enjoyed a strong season for the La Liga outfit, featuring on 31 occasions in all competitions.
The Morocco international is set to come up against Man United in the Europa League on Thursday night, as the Red Devils head to Spain for the first leg of their last-16 contest against La Real.
According to Fichajes, Aguerd's performances for Real Sociedad this season have caught the attention of Man United, who are weighing up a bid for him during this summer's transfer window.
The report claims that Aguerd is viewed as the ideal player to boost Man United's defensive unit this summer, with Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans both set to leave the club on free transfers at the end of June.
Man United 'keen on West Ham defender Aguerd'
Man United are prioritising moves for a centre-forward and central midfielder this summer, so there will not be much room in the budget to bring in a high-profile centre-back, with Aguerd being viewed as the ideal acquisition.
Real Sociedad are said to be determined to sign the defender at the end of the campaign due to his strong performances, but the La Liga club will find it difficult to meet West Ham's asking price.
Aguerd's valuation has been placed at €35m (£29m) by transfermarkt, which is fair considering that West Ham signed him from Rennes for £30m in June 2022, and he has enjoyed a strong campaign.
The centre-back has made 58 appearances for West Ham, including 39 outings in the Premier League, while he has also played in the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League during his career.
Will any other Real Sociedad players be of interest to Man United?
There will also be eyes on Martin Zubimendi's performance against Man United, with the Spain international viewed as one of the best central midfielders in world football.
Zubimendi turned down the chance to join Liverpool last summer, but he could move to the Premier League with Arsenal, with the Gunners said to be at the head of the queue for his services.
Man United are also in need of a new midfielder, though, and strong displays against the 20-time English champions over the two legs could potentially lead to Ruben Amorim's side making a summer move. body check tags ::
