Liverpool will reportedly finally push ahead with a bid for Roma stopper Alisson Becker next week as Jurgen Klopp attempts to at last resolve his goalkeeping crisis.

The Reds were said to have shelved plans to bring in a new number one this summer as top target Alisson was valued too highly by the Italian club.

Following some indifferent displays in the early stages of pre-season, though, The Mirror suggests that Klopp now acknowledges that Loris Karius has to be replaced before the window closes.

Liverpool will open talks with Roma in the next few days, it is claimed, with a fee of around £58m likely required to get a deal over the line.

Alisson, currently resting following his World Cup exertions with Brazil, is also said to be on the radar of Real Madrid and Chelsea.
