Everton to sign Watford forward Richarlison for £50m?

Everton are reportedly closing in on the £50m signing of Watford forward Richarlison, who only cost the Hornets £11.2m last year.

Everton have reportedly indicated that they are willing to pay £50m to sign Watford forward Richarlison.

The Hornets splashed out £11.2m to sign Richarlison from Fluminense 12 months ago, and the Brazilian went on to contribute five goals in 38 matches in the Premier League during the most recent campaign.

However, former boss Marco Silva is now at Everton and according to the Daily Mail, the Portuguese is willing to break the club's transfer record to sign the 21-year-old.

Richarlison still has four years remaining on his contract and has attracted interest from other Premier League clubs, but it appears that the attacker will soon link up with the Toffees on a long-term deal.

Everton have spent the off-season attempting to lower their wage bill with player sales and loans, but it has been claimed that the club's hierarchy remain intent on backing their new head coach in the transfer market.
