Liverpool duo Andrew Robertson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have both returned to first-team training ahead of their Champions League trip to Ibrox against Rangers on Wednesday.

Jurgen Klopp's side have been hampered with injuries so far this season and have subsequently endured a difficult start to the season, winning only four of their 11 games across all competitions.

Liverpool's latest setback came last weekend when they suffered a 3-2 defeat away against Arsenal in the Premier League, and they now sit 14 points behind the Gunners at the summit.

Both Robertson and Oxlade-Chamberlain were absent for the trip to North London, with the former also missing the previous three matches after sustaining a knee injury during the 4-1 Champions League loss to Napoli in early September.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, meanwhile, is yet to play for the Reds this season as he has been struggling with a hamstring problem.

However, both players were spotted at Liverpool's AXA Training Centre on Tuesday and took part in first-team training with the rest of their teammates.

While Oxlade-Chamberlain is unable to play on Wednesday, as he was left out of Liverpool's Champions League squad for the group stage, Robertson could be in contention to feature in his native Scotland.

Elsewhere on the injury front, Colombian winger Luis Diaz is ruled out until after the World Cup after sustaining a knee injury in the defeat to Arsenal.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joel Matip also picked up respective ankle and calf injuries at the Emirates Stadium and both players are allegedly set for a couple of weeks on the sidelines.

Summer signing Arthur Melo is set for between three to four months on the treatment table after undergoing surgery on a muscle problem which he picked up in the build-up to last week's win over Rangers.

Naby Keita and Calvin Ramsey are both still out with respective hamstring and back injuries, while Curtis Jones is a major doubt with a calf problem and is unlikely to feature against the Gers on Tuesday.

Liverpool currently sit second in Group A of the Champions League at the halfway stage after claiming six points from a possible nine available.

Klopp's men could consolidate second spot with a win against Rangers and they could move level on points with leaders Napoli if the Italians were to lose at home to Ajax in third. body check tags ::
