Liverpool make English football history in AC Milan win

Liverpool become the first English team in history to win all six of their Champions League group games after beating AC Milan on Tuesday night at San Siro.

Liverpool have earned a slice of English football history by overcoming AC Milan 2-1 in Tuesday's Champions League fixture at San Siro.

The Reds went 1-0 down on the night as Fikayo Tomori lashed home from a corner, but Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi turned the game on its head for Jurgen Klopp's side.

Liverpool have progressed to the last-16 without dropping a single point in the group - winning six out of six alongside Ajax - while Bayern Munich have the opportunity to maintain their 100% record against Barcelona tomorrow.

In doing so, Klopp's men have become the first English team in history to win all six of their group games in a single Champions League campaign.

The Reds have also won six games in a row in Europe's elite competition for the first time in their history, while Milan finished rock bottom of the group after Atletico Madrid beat Porto to clinch second.

Salah lashed home into an empty net for his side's equaliser and his 20th goal of the season in all competitions, which saw him equal a previous record set by none other than Cristiano Ronaldo.
