Real Madrid will be without Casemiro for the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie with Paris Saint-Germain due to suspension.

The Brazilian midfielder went into Tuesday night's first leg one booking away from a ban, and he picked up that caution in the 37th minute.

Casemiro arrived late to a challenge on Leandro Paredes, but looked as though he would avoid a yellow card until briefly putting his hand around Paredes's throat after the PSG midfielder had reacted angrily.

Los Blancos will now have to make do without the four-time Champions League winner when they welcome PSG back to the Bernabeu on March 9.

The booking came with the score still goalless in the star-studded first leg at the Parc des Princes.

Kylian Mbappe, who has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer, enjoyed the best chance of the first half but he was thwarted by Thibaut Courtois. body check tags ::
