Everton to appoint Marco Silva this week?

Everton will reportedly appoint former Watford boss Marco Silva as the club's new manager before the end of the week.

Everton have reportedly moved closer to confirming the appointment of Marco Silva as the club's new manager.

Since Sam Allardyce parted company with the Toffees, Silva has been linked with the vacant position at Goodison Park after allegedly missing out on the role during his time at Watford.

According to The Mirror, a deal has been agreed in principle between owner Farhad Moshiri and Silva, and the arrival of the Portuguese could be confirmed by the end of the week.

Moshiri has also been in negotiations over compensation with Watford - who lodged an official complaint over an alleged illegal approach for Silva in October - but it has been suggested that discussions are close to reaching a conclusion.

Silva is said to have already held talks with Everton's new director of football Marcel Brands regarding plans for next season, with significant changes expected in the coming months.

Everton finished in eighth place in the top-flight standings this season.
