Neil Warnock: 'Cardiff City must improve in final third'

Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock says that his side must improve in the final third after failing to score in either of their opening two Premier League fixtures.

Boss Neil Warnock has admitted that his Cardiff City squad have been doing extra work on creating opportunities in the final third.

The newly-promoted Premier League side have failed to score in either of their matches with Bournemouth and Newcastle United, and the Bluebirds face another crucial meeting this weekend when they travel to Huddersfield Town.

Warnock has suggested that he had been left pleased with some of the team's work in the final third, but the veteran manager is concerned with the lack of clear-cut opportunities.

At a press conference, Warnock told reporters: "The worry is that we're in very good positions at times last week and really it didn't materialise to anything substantial - one or two heading situations. Like a damp squib really. It was disappointing in that last third.

"We are working on that all the time now in the week, but you've still got to get the correct balls and the desire and the ability. We are working. We are trying really hard, the lads, and I'm hoping that we can get off the mark this weekend."

Cardiff currently sit in 16th place in the top-flight standings.
