Brighton & Hove Albion looking to sign Sheffield United's Jack O'Connell?

Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly willing to spend £6m in order to sign Sheffield United defender Jack O'Connell.

Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly turned their attention to trying to sign Sheffield United defender Jack O'Connell.

Seagulls boss Chris Hughton has already added Leon Balogun to his first-team squad, but there remains a desire to bring in another centre-back before the end of the summer window.

Brighton have been left frustrated in their attempts to sign Reading defender Liam Moore, and according to Sky Sports News, O'Connell has been identified as an alternative.

O'Connell has made 98 appearances for the Blades in all competitions since signing from Brentford in 2016, and Brighton are allegedly prepared to spend £6m in order to take the 24-year-old to the Amex Stadium.

United remain in a strong position when it comes to keeping O'Connell, with the defender still having four years remaining on his contract.
