Philippe Coutinho suffers thigh injury

Coutinho may struggle to be fit for Barca’s meeting with Tottenham in December.

Barcelona forward Philippe Coutinho will miss “two to three weeks” of action due to a thigh muscle injury.

The former Liverpool player, 26, will hope to recover in time to face Tottenham in the Champions League at the Nou Camp on December 11.

A statement published on fcbarcelona.com read: “Tests carried out on Thursday morning have confirmed that Philippe Coutinho has a small rupture in the biceps femoris of his left leg. He will be out for approximately two to three weeks.”

Brazil international Coutinho will miss Sunday’s LaLiga clash with Real Betis and may struggle to feature against Atletico Madrid in Barca’s next league fixture, and at PSV Eindhoven on November 28.
