Inter Milan 'favourites to sign Manchester United forward Anthony Martial'

Inter Milan reportedly emerge as favourites to sign Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial, whose contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of this season.

Inter Milan have reportedly emerged as the favourites to sign Manchester United forward Anthony Martial.

Martial is yet to agree fresh terms at Old Trafford, with his current contract due to expire next summer - although United do have the option to extend it by a further 12 months.

The 22-year-old was understood to be keen to leave the club during the summer due to a lack of first-team football, but he has since worked his way back into manager Jose Mourinho's plans.

However, Tuttosport reports that Martial is still considering a new challenge amid concerns that he could lose his place in the team again when his current run of goals dries up.

The report goes on to say that Inter are in pole position to sign the France international should he decide to leave Old Trafford.

Despite the option to extend Martial's stay by a further 12 months, United could still look to cash in on the attacker next summer before his value begins to fall.

Martial has scored 48 goals in 148 appearances for United, including five in his last four league games.
